Comon now people!

Time for a good lil rant.
First off, I'm going to appologize for not writing for days! I tried creating a new blog (on wordpress.com), but after much frustration, I've decided to can it. I love the option of customizing my header, but that's about the only thing i CAN customize without having to pay! If I wasn't a starving student, I'd probably do it; however, I'm sure the Nova Scotia government would rather I give them the money instead of wordpress. Oh well!
Now onto my true reason for bloggin'. I'm pretty peeved that people think I'm dumb. Honestly, if I could get through life being 'pretty' or 'cutesy', I would, but unfortunatly I'm a bit too opinionated and assertive at times, and that just takes away from my booming looks (lol). Anyways, I've got brains. A lot of brains... Brain cells (neurons) that I've been using lately to study how the heart works, and a pile of cardiac procedures so I can kick some ass and become a cardiology technologist. So when someone judges my knowledge of things health related, I get a bit defensive.
Not only do I study cardiology, but I have Crohn's Disease. I've been inside a hospital more in 6 years than most people spend in their lifetime. I've done endless research, changed my lifestyle, and really stepped back and took a good hard look at my life. At the age of 17yrs old, I had to REALLY grow up and take on adult responsibilities. Now at the age of 23, I'd like to think I've accomplished a lot, and pride myself at knowing more than the average joe about health (mostly due to the fact that i HAVE to).
Note: i don't know everything, i never will. I'll ALWAYS be learning new things, and constantly getting better and better. But some people just have to give me a little bit of credit. I'm not your atypical 20-something yr old 'chick'.
On that note, I've spent a moderate amount of time studying thus far. And I'm extremely happy to have gotten phone calls from my closest friends back home ( my bff of 15+ yrs, a wonderful woman I work with, and another homme who I adore!).
All in all, a productive Saturday... now if only I can make today productive (i DID watch Coronation St... does that count?!)
no more ranting!!! fun blogging to come!
xoxo

Don't trust me with your children
Ok, so my title is quite the exaggeration; however, you shouldn't trust me when making tea, 'cause I definitely can mess that one up.
It all started this afternoon when the 'tickle' in my throat became a raw fire ball, and I decided to take a lemon and make some lemon ginger tea. So, like quite the domesticated woman, I juiced some lemons (and of course quartered the skins and threw them in as well), added ginger, and a bit of water, and left my concoction to simmer.
well, this was at 3:30pm
Its now 7:00pm, and I noticed (while talking to my Mum on the phone) an interesting scent. It smelt fondly like burnt lemon meringue pie. Then a little bell went off in my head, "oh god, my tea".
well people, I'm sure I could burn water.
Here's a picture for all to see. :P

Side note: Gordon Ramsey would probably be throwing the F word at me right now, but then we'd cuddle and make up. ;) hahaha
